STEPHEN HOLMAN is an acclaimed, Anglo-American artist whose work in fine art, illustration, children's television and performance art has been exhibited, screened and staged throughout the world.

Holman’s current work focuses mainly on paintings of the underwater world. Inspired by 20 years of experience as a Californian scuba diver, his aquatic artworks attempt to capture not only the visual beauty of oceanic lifeforms and underwater landscapes, but also dive culture, and the sensory experience of a human being submerged in the powerful forces of the Pacific Ocean.

Holman grew up in the coastal town of Hastings, England in the 1960s, earned a BA (Hons) in Fine Art at the University of East London, and then moved to the US in 1984. Highlights from his earlier career include creating animation series for Nickelodeon (LIFE WITH LOOPY/KABLAM!), Warner Bros (PHANTOM INVESTIGATORS) and Disney (THE BITE-SIZED ADVENTURES OF SAM SANDWICH). He also worked as an artist on PEE WEE'S PLAYHOUSE and directed/co-founded the notorious performance art troupe THEATRE CARNIVALE, in Los Angeles in the late 1980s.
